Introduction
V2_Lab is a workplace for artists, scientists and technicians emphasizing exchange and meeting between the various disciplines that are involved in the realization of unstable media productions. V2_Lab gives technical and production support to artists in their research and realization of unstable media productions.

V2_Lab also offers a forum where knowledge from various disciplines and professions can be accumulated. From this interdisciplinary forum existing knowledge and expertise can be combined with concepts that are based on new unstable technology.

V2_Lab is convinced that applying technology and developing software within art projects can be an important addition to existing 'R&D'. Art concepts often imply demands of functionality that may lead to further research which is different from research aimed at practical and comfort oriented applications of new technologies as we see them in everyday life. The complexity of new technologies however implies the necessity of collaboration between specialists from different fields in the profession. This necessity is an invitation to collaboration that may prove to be of great importance to the positioning of creative research into the design of unstable media.
Various models have been developed for V2_Lab's activities, focusing on collaboration and on exchanging and combining knowledge. In this way V2_Lab aims to create a place for artists as 'creative researchers' within the existing (technical and social) field of research.
